NZMS Conference 2008 - “Germs and Genomes in the Garden City”
18 - 21 November 2008
Venue – Central Lecture Block,
University of Canterbury, Christchurch
For over 50 years the New Zealand Microbiological Society's key objective has been the improvement and diffusion of knowledge of microbiology in its widest sense within New Zealand. It also aims to improve the public image of microbiology, and to provide professional input into important microbiological issues.
The Society's major activity is its annual conference which provides a forum for communicating developments between practicing microbiologists and molecular biologists in a wide range of subjects as well as an opportunity for companies supporting this area of science to interface with the professional scientists involved.
The NZMS also has a special focus on developing the next generation of microbiologists with a variety of incentives and awards and it makes its major award to an outstanding NZ microbiologist who delivers the NZMS Oration at the conference.
We hope you enjoy this year's conference in the glorious Garden City of Christchurch, and make the most of your time on the South Island!
See you in November!
